Podcast Growth Case Study

Independent fan pages clipping a prominent entrepreneur's long-form podcast episodes into high-retention short-form clips built to travel.

Challenge

Podcast clip pages all look identical: generic crops, basic subtitles, low energy. As fan pages, there was no official budget — only public episode audio/video and the quality of the edit to compete in saturated feeds.

Approach

We treated each clip as a standalone masterpiece. Moments were chosen for a complete argument inside 30 seconds, hooks were rewritten as bold statements, and kinetic captions carried emphasis so the clip worked even when muted.

Creative Process

  1. 01Mined full episodes for self-contained arguments with a beginning, middle, and turn.
  2. 02Wrote hooks as punchy statements and cut the first frame to instantly capture context.
  3. 03Cut on natural speech cadence so the pacing felt conversational yet intense.
  4. 04Built a custom subtitle system highlighting high-impact keywords.
  5. 05A/B tested opening frames across a fixed publishing window and scaled winning formats.

Lessons Learned

The edit is the strategy. Choosing what to cut did more for performance than anything we could add to the editing timeline.
